Gary D. Cole
Gary D. Cole, 83, of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at his home in Upper Sandusky.
Gary was born Nov. 6, 1934, in Carey, to Cecil and Golda (Keckler) Cole. He married Carolyn Ratliff June 2, 1956, in Richmond, Indiana, and she survives in Upper Sandusky.
He also is survived by his three sons, Tim (Laura) Cole of Nevada, Gary Dean (Vickie) Cole of Lima and Charles David Cole of Carey; three grandchildren, Nina Leigh Smith, Seth Joseph Cole and Jamy Lynn Conrad; two great-grandchildren; Shelby Lynn Shuster and Nadia Conrad; a brother, Bill (Geneile) Cole of San Diego, California; a sister, Donna Crawford of Upper Sandusky; two half brothers, Denny Kidwell and Jody Kidwell both of Tiffin; and a half-sister, Ginger Ward of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cecil and James Cole; and three half brothers, Wendell, Dusty, and Kevin Kidwell
Gary worked for 44 years for the former Claycraft Brick Manufacturing in Upper Sandusky as a brick sorter.
For hobbies, he enjoyed hunting arrowheads and collecting antique sport cars, pitching horseshoes, golfing, watching boxing, horseback riding, boating at Indian Lake and following the Packers and OSU Buckeyes.
Most precious to Gary was his home and the love of his family. He will be greatly missed.
Visitations will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, and one hour before his service Tuesday, both at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home,476 S. Sandusky St., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
The funeral for Gary D. Cole will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery.
