Edward A. Broski

Edward A. Broski, 90, of Burgoon, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Fremont ProMedica Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 8, 1927, in Castalia, to John Paul and Esther Ruth (Long) Broski.

Edward is survived by his loving companion, Carol Homler of Burgoon; four children, Edward Broski of Burgoon, Greg Broski of Bettsville, David (Dawn) Broski of Sandusky and Lisa Broski of Bettsville; two siblings, John Broski and Carolyn Broski, both of Fremont; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tim Broski; and four siblings, Betty Manahan, Eleanor Freeh, Shirley Jarrett and Gloria Rakay.

Edward served in the U.S. Army March 1, 1946 to Aug. 3, 1947, and received an honorable discharge.

He worked for Basic Refractories, Bettsville, as a mill wright for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. Edward was a life member of the VFW, Moose, Eagles and American Legion. He enjoyed his beloved dog, Blackie, along with, fishing and golfing.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont.

His service will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, March 12, at the funeral home, with certified funeral celebrant Susann Robitski Zimmerman.
