Michael A. Welter
Michael A. Welter, 67, of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 4, 2017, at his home after a brief illness.
Sept. 5, 1950, in Tiffin, he was born to Arthur E. and Patricia M. (Ames) Welter. He married Deborah Wagner Sept. 1, 1973.
Survivors include his wife; son, Daniel (Candace) Welter of Frederick, Maryland; four brothers, Thomas Welter of Tiffin, James (LuAnn) Welter of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Steve (Karen) Welter and George Welter, both of Tiffin; and two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Andrew Welter.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and a sister-in-law, Therese Welter.
Michael was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 1968 graduate of Calvert High School. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves and worked at National Machinery for more than 49 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed golfing, golfing with his wife, working on projects around the house and traveling. Michael will be remembered for his generosity and helping others in need.
His Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Organ Fund or Stein Hospice.
