Roma R. Shellhouse
Roma R. Shellhouse, 93, formerly of rural, Tiffin, died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at Elmwood at the Shawhan, Tiffin.
She was born March 3, 1924, in Plankton, to Ucebius and Cora (Mollenkopf) Roush. She married Dale V. Shellhouse Aug. 25, 1949, and he died Sept. 12, 2008.
Surviving are two children, Verne (Sharon) Shellhouse and Ruth Friddle, both of rural Tiffin; five grandchildren, Jenni Smith, Sarah (Matt) Libeg, Micah (Amie) Hurley, Emily Shellhouse and Nick (Crystal) Friddle; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Norma Roush of Tiffin and Joan Shellhouse of rural Tiffin.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Roma was a retired elementary school teacher having taught 33 years in the Mohawk school system. She was a 1942 graduate of Melmore High School and belonged to many organizations throughout the Melmore area over her lifetime.
For hobbies she loved to read, sew, work in her garden, listen to music, camp with her family, attend flea markets and cook. Also she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
A memorial service for Roma will begin at noon Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Saffel Ave., Sycamore, with Pastor Amy Vittorio officiating.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the funeral home.
