Thomas R. Wonderly
Thomas R. Wonderly, 62, of Tiffin, passed away Friday morning, Sept. 22, 2017, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Sept. 27, 1954, in Cleveland, he was born to John Barrett and Kathleen A. “Katie” (Gillig) Wonderly. He married Denise Schwab in 1985 and they later divorced.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Susi Robison of Tiffin; two sons, Bill (Mackenzie) Krzyzak and John (Breanna O’Quinn) Wonderly, both of Tiffin; two daughters, Amber (Trinity Lukasik) of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Danielle (Kyle Maxwell) Wonderly of Tiffin; two stepsons, Tobey (Ann Slemmer) Robison and Chris (Darlene Moore) Robison, both of Tiffin; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Chris (Laura) Wonderly of Quamedo, New Mexico; and three dogs and a cat.
He was preceded in death by his father, John, and mother, Kathleen Jacoby.
Tom was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 1972 graduate of Calvert High School, Tiffin. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1973, traveling to Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Philippines, and honorably discharged in 1977. He was a service technician for Ferrell Gas, Bascom, for more than 25 years. He enjoyed traveling and RVing around the country, hiking, fishing, camping, riding his Harley Davidson, playing cards and chess, and spending time outdoors. Tom loved his family and spending time with them, especially playing games with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Throughout the years, Tom made many friends who remain close.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka and the Rev. Frank Murd con-celebrating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
