Harold Fredrick Durer

Harold Fredrick Durer, 88, of Tiffin, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.

Harold was born July 5, 1929, in Upper Sandusky, to Edward and Mabel (Masters) Durer. He married Bernice (Reed) May 28, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and she survives in Tiffin.

Survivors include his two daughters, Yvonne (Dean) Snider of Dorset and Beverly (Robert) Werner of Orlando, Florida; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Willard Durer; and three sisters, Ellen Rice, Mildred Baker and Marilyn Seiler.

Harold was a 1947 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

Harold was a farmer and then retired from Webster Manufacturing after 43 years. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tiffin American Legion and was a lifetime member of the DAV.

A funeral for Harold will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 N. Washington St. Tiffin, with the Rev. Kurt Schaller Blaufuss officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin, with military rites being rendered by United Veterans Council.

Visitation for family and friends will be 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ or Autumnwood Care Center.
