Gregg W. Bish

Gregg W. Bish, 63, of Fremont, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at his home.

Gregg was born July 10, 1954, in Tiffin, to Kenneth and Kathleen (Miller) Bish. Gregg married Gretchen (Mittelstaedt) Nov. 21, 1992, in Gaylord, Michigan.

He is survived by his wife, Gretchen of Fremont, Michigan; his seven children, Brandon (Jill) Bish of Portage, Michigan, Army Staff Sgt. Ryan Bish of Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Sean (Loren) Bish of Aurora, Colorado, Christian Bish and John Bish, both of Fremont, Michigan, Airman First Class Connor Bish of Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, and Stephanie Schifer of Columbus; five grandchildren; his sister, Sharon (Ron) Cooney of Raleigh, North Carolina; two brothers, Rodger (Carole) Bish of Houghton, Michigan, and Kevin (Linda) Bish of Tiffin; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Darleen and Edwin Mittelstaedt of Chatham, Illinois; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gregg was preceded in death by his daughter, Megan Bish; his brother, Sr. Master Sgt. Lynn Bish; and his parents, Kenneth and Kathleen Bish.

He graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School. Gregg later received an associate’s degree and worked as a quality engineer for many years. He later retired from the warranty management department at Magna Donnelly, Newaygo, Michigan, in February 2017. He had been a resident of the Fremont, Michigan, area since 1997.

Gregg enjoyed music and, in his younger days, played the bass guitar and trombone in a band. He also enjoyed woodworking and do-it-yourself projects at home and was an avid gamer.

Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at All Saints Catholic Church, Fremont, Michigan, with his funeral beginning at 11 a.m.
