Eloise M. Strasser, 71, of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 2:16 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Wyandot Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.

Eloise was born June 18, 1946, in Seneca County, to Elmer and Vita (Holman) Wagner, both of whom are deceased. She married Michael Strasser Jan. 6, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, and he survives.

She also is survived by four children, Teressa (Jonathan) Grega of Howard, Beth (Travis) Rupp of Delaware, Christy (Jarrod) Coburn of Upper Sandusky and Dan (Jackie) Strasser of Delaware; eight grandchildren, Nicholas and Carter Grega, Tiffany Rupp, Caryn, Javen, Caroline and Jacen Coburn and Mason Hague; and a sister, Rose Werling of Findlay.

Eloise was a 1964 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School and furthered her education at Elkhart University of Medical and Dental Technique as a dental nurse. She worked for a time as a dental hygienist in Tiffin, then after getting married, she was a homemaker and worked in retail sales in the Upper Sandusky area with Big Wheel/Pamida and A&A Grocery.

Eloise was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky, where she was active in the choir. She was a member of Catholic Ladies of Columbia, where she served in their “shut in” ministry. She also was active, alongside of her husband, within the Knights of Columbus No. 2050, Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies, she enjoyed music of all kinds and singing in the church choir. She will be remembered for her love for her family and her tremendous heart for serving and helping others in need.

Her memorial will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Antony Varghese Vattaparambil, OFM, Conv officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at the funeral home.
