Wendelin J. Reinhart
Wendelin J. Reinhart, 75, of Bloomville, passed away Saturday evening, April 19, 2014, at his home, after an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 10, 1938, in McCutchenville, to Edward and Hilda (Wickelman) Reinhart. He married Betty Goodin Aug. 22, 1964, in Whitley City, Ky., and she survives in Bloomville.
Other survivors include three special nephews who helped take care of him in his last years, Daniel (Jennifer) Reinhart, Craig (Tammie) Reinhart and Lee Reinhart, all of Bloomville; a brother, Lawrence (Jean) Reinhart of Luckey; a sister, Bernadine Reitzel of Oak Harbor; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Leona, Margaret Ann, and Mary Rose; and a brother, Eugene.
Wendelin worked in Maple Grove and Fostoria as a trackman for Northfolk and Southern Railroad, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, the Brotherhood of Maintence Way, and a former member of Melmore Odd Fellows. He enjoyed fishing, farming, feeding and watching birds, raising livestock and going to livestock auctions. He also loved spoiling his great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, and was happy when his railroad buddies and brothers-in-law would stop by and visit with him.
A Mass of Christian burial for Wendelin will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville. The rosary will be prayed 20 minutes before the Mass.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with a Christian wake service beginning at 7:45 p.m.
