Charlotte H. Wagner
Charlotte H. Wagner, 81, of Newark and formerly of Tiffin, passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Autumn Health Care Center, Newark.
She was born June 22, 1932, in Highland Park, Mich., to Emil and Karoline (Grevlich) Siegle. She married Charles Anthony Wagner June 29, 1957, and he preceded her in death Aug. 9, 2000.
Survivors include four sons, Stephen (Lynn Anne) Wagner of Nacogdoches, Texas, Philip (Kimberley) Wagner of Newark, Matthew (Robin) Wagner of Granville and Brian (Susan) Wagner of Covina, Calif.; a brother, Emil H. Siegle of New Riegel; a sister, Christina Kitts of Durham, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, Michael Wagner, Heather Kowbasa, Melissa Meyers, Tyler, Audrey, Gwendolyn, Casey, Thomas, Jacob, Leah, Abby and Luke Wagner; and two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Alexi.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Julia Annette Wagner.
Charlotte was a past member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, and a graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School and Heidelberg College with a music degree. She was a music school teacher at the Seneca County School of Opportunity and St. Mary Catholic School for 42 years. She also taught music from her home on Apple Street. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Bible Study, Marion Club, Licking County Aging Program and the Licking County Aging Program band.
Her Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., (419) 447-2424. A wake service will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, St. Joseph Music Center and/or Blessed Sacrament Church, Newark.
