Richard ‘Dick’ Jennings Brigham

Richard “Dick” Jennings Brigham, 68, of Fostoria, passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green.

He was born March 9, 1945, in Ann Arbor, Mich., to the late Bernard M. and Dorothy B. (Jennings) Brigham. He married Micki Weidner Nov. 20, 1965, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and she survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are three sons, Brett J. (Lisa) of River Forest, Ill., Chad J. (Noelle) of Oak Creek, Wis., and Jason J. (Sugey) of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; six grandchildren, Kennedi, Quin, Gracyn, Matthew, Beckett and Isabella; and one sister, Diane J. Norris of Columbus.

Dick was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era, for which our nation is forever grateful. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, past president of the Redman Club, where he also volunteered, and was a senior engineer for Atlas Crankshaft, retiring in 2009 after 41 years of service.

Dick enjoyed traveling with Micki and the family, taking trips to not only Chicago and Wisconsin, but also to Alaska and Sweden. However, near and dear to their hearts were the family vacations to Anna Maria Island, Fla.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will begin at 3:45 p.m.

His Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. The United Veterans of Fostoria will provide military honors following Mass at the church, and a funeral luncheon will follow at the parish hall.

Dick will be interred at St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery, Fostoria.
