Wandalea Shuman, 84, of Sandusky and formerly Tiffin, died at 7:18 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky.
Wandalea was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Fostoria, to Charles F. and Aileen E. (Mankin) DeWeese. She married Thomas A. Shuman Nov. 26, 1949, in Covington, Ky., and he preceded her in death Oct. 29, 1969.
Survivors include her three children, Martha “Marty” Vassalle of Sandusky, Thomas J. Shuman of Tiffin and Susan L. Perry of Huron; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph F. DeWeese of Tiffin; and a sister, Frances Kay Reed of Nelsonville.
Wandalea also was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Steven Thomas Perry; two brothers; and two sisters.
Wandalea worked as a nurse at Mercy Tiffin Hospital and Tiffin Developmental Center. She was a member of Eastern Star, the UAW, Dearborn, Mich., and the Sandusky American Legion and Eagles.
Graveside services will begin at noon Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin.
Visitation for family and friends will be 10 a.m.-noon Friday at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, with the Rev. Donna Van Trees officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
