Nicholas Alan Reiter
Gibsonburg resident Nicholas Alan Reiter, 51, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Mercy St. Charles Medical Hospital, Oregon.
He was born Aug. 7, 1962, the son of Bruce and Rebecca (Buskirk) Reiter. He graduated from Old Fort High School and earned a degree in electro mechanical robotics at Terra Community College. As a scientist, Nicholas worked for Calyxo Company, Perrysburg.
He married Debora “Deb” Wheatley June 29, 1984, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lindsey, and she survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Rebecca of Tiffin; three sons, Trevor, Peter and Ian, all of Gibsonburg; granddaughter, Margot Reiter; and sister, Natalie (Dennis) Eberly of Tiffin.
Nicholas was known to be a published author and has been broadcast on TV and radio as a paranormal investigator. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, traveling, cooking and spending time with his family and animals. He also attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Gibsonburg.
A time of gathering, in remembrance, will be offered from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg.
His memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Max Ulderich officiating. An additional hour of gathering will be one hour prior to the memorial service. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Contributions in Nicholas’ memory may be made to American Cancer Society, to fight against colon cancer.
