Nancy A. (Dundore) Shiley

Nancy A. (Dundore) Shiley, 72, of Lancaster, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, following a long battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born Dec. 21, 1940, in Tiffin, to the late Harry and Lucille (Myers) Dundore. She was a 1958 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School. She loved working with students, both as a teacher at Hilliard and Bloom Carroll high schools and as a guidance counselor at Thomas Ewing Junior High. Nancy loved to play all kinds of cards, teaching hundreds to play bridge. Nancy was a fanatic Buckeyes fan and enjoyed following all of her Ohio sports teams. She was an avid gardener and loved to be outside in God’s creation. Nancy’s greatest loves were her Savior and her family. She was an active member at Lithopolis United Methodist Church for more than 30 years. Nancy loved to teach and learn about the Bible and her faith. She treasured her six grandchildren, leaving behind a handwritten book of her favorite grandchildren memories. She taught her family how to love and they will carry those lessons with them as they treasure her memory and miss her dearly.

Shiley; three children, Doug Shiley, Beth (Paul) Reichert and Kathy (Dan) Shirley; six beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Nicolas and Jerod Shirley, Moriah, Erin and Isaac Reichert; four siblings, Richard (Janet) Dundore, Betty (John) Park, Dwight Dundore and Lucy (Jean Shonkwiler) Dundore; and several nieces and nephews.
