Royal J. “Robbie” Robbins, 91, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday morning, April 28, 2013, at St. Catherine’s Manor of Fostoria.
On June 12, 1921, he was born in Fostoria to John and Mae Robbins. He married Halie “Bell” Fitch Nov. 7, 1971.
Survivors include a son, Larry, and his wife Kim; a daughter, Iris; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Halie; and a son, Buck Robbins.
Robbie served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was retired from Hayes Albion. He was a Detroit Tigers and an Ohio State Buckeye fan. He was a member of the Tiffin Eagles, VFW Post 2858, and travelled to Nashville, Tenn. often, where he was friends with many country and western stars. He was known for his tall tales and great sense of humor.

A graveside service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Fairmont Cemetery. The United Veterans Council will conduct the service.
