Janet Ann Haferd

Janet Ann Haferd, 44, Carey, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

Janet was born Aug. 12, 1968, in Tiffin, the daughter of Orland and Ruth (Depinet) Schreiner. Her father survives in Tiffin. Her mother preceded her in death. She married Dennis N. Haferd April 25, 1997, and he survives in Carey.

Also surviving are three stepchildren, Kevin (Jackie) Haferd of New Riegel, Jeff Haferd of Findlay and Jennifer (Shaun) Conley of Tiffin; six stepgrandchildren, Brody, Addisyn, Ella, Paige, Avery and Logan; and three brothers, David Schreiner of Maryland, Jerry Schreiner of New Riegel and John Schreiner of Tiffin.

She was a graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School. She received an associate’s degree in business from Tiffin University and later became a medical transcriptionist. She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Frenchtown. She also was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 872, New Riegel.

Janet loved taking her dog, Lacey, for long walks, sitting around the campfire with friends and was an avid OSU sports fan. She loved everything about Christmas – making candy, buying and wrapping gifts and just being with family.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today, April 2, 2013, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.

Her Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at All Saints Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Frenchtown, with Father Frank Murd and Father Tim Kummerer concelebrating. Burial will follow at All Saints Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel Cemetery, Frenchtown.
