Kim E. Young

Kim E. Young, 62, of New Riegel, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.

He was born Jan. 29, 1951, in Orange, Texas, to the late Eugene L. “Toad” Young and Violet M. (Warner) Young. His mother survives him in Fostoria. He married Barbara Ulman April 12, 1971, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Riegel, and she survives him.

Also surviving are three sons, Jeremy, Mansfield, Conn., Dylan, Olmsted Falls, and Tim (Amanda Pollard), Fremont; four grandsons, Brandon, Ocean, Spencer and Noah, and our only girl, Jasmine; one brother, Kyle (Cheryl) Young, Fostoria; and one sister, Koreen Young, Fostoria.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Pearl Young and Charlie and Molly Warner.

Kim attended Fostoria High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from August of 1969- November of 1989, retiring as an IM Chief, for which our country is forever grateful. He became a quality control assistant for Nissin Brake Ohio Inc., where he remained for 16 years.

Kim was a member of the Edward Grine Legion, New Riegel, and the VFW in Plainfield, Conn. He enjoyed photography and music, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Kim enjoyed “life itself.”

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St, Fostoria, where an American Legion prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.

Funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Catholic Church in New Riegel with an hour of visitation prior to the service, with Fr. Tim Kummerer officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery where the New Riegel American Legion will provide military honors.

Memorial contributions are requested to Bridge Hospice, Findlay, or to the Veterans Homes in either Sandusky or Ann Arbor.
