Marilyn M. Saxton
Marilyn M. Saxton, 90, of Fostoria, died Monday morning, Dec. 31, 2012, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.
She was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Toledo, to Harold and Jessie (Martin) Brombley. She married James “Russ” Saxton March 29, 1941, in Fostoria, and he died Feb. 8, 2000.
She is survived by two sons, Larry R. (Saundra) and Michael (Barbara) Saxton, both of Defiance; a daughter, Judy Lynn (Michael) Thomas of Fostoria; two sisters, Helen Gierke of Findlay and Donna Fraley of Tiffin; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Laura Yoder.
She was a 1940 graduate of Fostoria High School and retired from Honeywell, Fostoria, with more than 30 years of service.
Marilyn was an active member of Enon Valley Presbyterian Church, its choir and was a former board member. She also was a member of the Fostoria Garden Club, where she was past president.
Marilyn also volunteered at Fostoria Community Hospital.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, 301 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, with the Rev. Thomas Everett officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3 at the funeral home.
