Mac Philip Case
Mac Philip Case, 90, of Wood’s Canyon Road, Upper Sandusky, died at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
He was born July 27, 1922, in Wyandot County, to Fred H. and Naamah N. (Ludwig) Case. He married Wilma E. (Adams) Dec. 24, 1944, and she died Dec. 20, 1996. He then married Evie (Pagnard) Hall Case Dec. 30, 1999, and she survives.
Also surviving are two children, Hal P. Case of Upper Sandusky and Mark (Sue) Case of Dayton; two stepchildren, Joe (Kris) Hall of Arvada, Colo., and Jurgen (Laura Hall) Haspelmann of Bielefeld, Germany; four grandchildren, Richard Case, Jennifer Yeater, Kimberly Williams and Nathan Case; two stepgrandchildren, Edward Haspelmann and Leni Haspelmann; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jane L. Miller of Bucyrus.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Philip Case who died Feb. 12, 1948; and a sister, Marie Sweigard.
Phil worked for 25 years as director of environmental health for Marion County and also was owner/operator of Stewart Root Beer Stand North, Marion, for many years. He also loved to farm. He was a member of Sycamore United Church of Christ and at the time of his death was attending First Presbyterian Church, Upper Sandusky.
He was a 1940 graduate of Eden High School and also was a World War II Army veteran. He was a life-member of Sycamore American Legion Post No. 250, former member of the Sycamore Lions Club, member of the Mohawk Historical Society, a member of Stone Crossing Golf Club, member of PERI Club, a life-member of the Ohio Environmental Health Association and a former board member of Angeline School and the Wyandot County Board of Health for 17 years. He also got to go on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., which he dearly loved. For hobbies, he loved to do woodworking, gardening and mowing his yard.
A memorial service and burial will take place later this year.
