Grace Bennett, 101, of Upper Sandusky, died at 7:27 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at The Inn at Westbrook, Upper Sandusky.
She was born Nov. 17, 1911, in Upper Sandusky, to the late John Henry and Anna Barbara (Koon) Brittingham. She married Curtis L. Bennett Aug. 2, 1937, and he preceded her in death Apr. 28, 1992.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Rita) Bennett of Upper Sandusky; two grandchildren, Eric (Traci) Bennett of Columbus and Tamara (Steve) Parsio of Galena; and four great-grandchildren Alyssa, Alex, Elizabeth and Audrey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Louise Stover, Bernice Carpenter and Edith, who died in infancy; and a brother, William Brittingham.
In 1931, she graduated from Upper Sandusky High School. Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and worked on the family farm in Jackson Township. She had also worked at Swan Rubber Company, Carey.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and its Women’s Guild. She had volunteered at the Wyandot County Senior Center. For hobbies, Mrs. Bennett enjoyed fishing, playing euchre, watching OSU, Cleveland Indians, tournament poker and women’s billiards on TV.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Bringman Clark Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. Brad McKibben officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.
