Pedestrian killed by train in Florida

LONGWOOD, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man walking his bicycle in between train tracks was struck and killed by an Amtrak train.

Authorities said that 53-year-old Mane Yee was killed Sunday morning in Seminole County. Seminole County is located in central Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the train operator used his horn to warn Yee, but that he failed to get out of the way.

Authorities issued a statement saying none of the approximately 100 passengers on the train were hurt.

The Highway Patrol says that the crash remains under investigation.

Young men shot at White Castle in Detroit

DETROIT (AP) — Authorities say three young men were shot to death in a White Castle on Detroit’s west side.

Police say the three men believed to have been in their late teens or early 20s were found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds at around 12:25 a.m. Sunday in the restaurant’s lobby. The restaurant’s windows had bullet holes and handguns were recovered at the scene.

Police say they have no immediate suspects.

It wasn’t immediately known if the three men were customers or workers at the restaurant, if they might have shot one another or if anyone might have witnessed the shootings.

Officers fatally shoot man who was firing

GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Police in Greenville say officers fatally shot a man who was firing a gun into a crowd of people.

The Greenville Police Department said in a news release that officers responded to an alleyway around 1:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a fight in progress involving shots fired.

The news release says the Greenville officers and officers from East Carolina University who were already in the area saw a man actively shooting into a crowd.
