Carnegie Library purchased

Bill Jones of the Re/Max office in downtown Tiffin conducts an auction Tuesday morning to sell the building that was originally a Carnegie Library. Andrew Kalnow purchased the historical building from the Seneca County commissioners for $90,000. The money is to be placed in the county’s General Fund. Kalnow said he hasn’t decided yet what the building’s new purpose will be. He said the imaginations of many people have the building turning into a restaurant, condos and the “best massage parlor in town.” In actuality, he said the building is located on a “happening corner” at Jefferson and East Market streets across from the East Tower and the East Green where construction continues on the new splash pad Kalnow is donating to the city.
