Fundraiser for FACT to feature music, food

Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment has an event planned for Saturday.

According to a release, Tony Paulus and the other members of “Allie and the Rockers” will host a BBQ rib dinner and concert to benefit FACT at Tiffin Moose, 1146 SR 53.

FACT board member Karen O’Connor said dinner is to be served at 5:30 p.m. and the band is to play at 7 p.m. The BBQ rib dinner is to include french fries, cole slaw and baked beans, a release states.

Paulus said the band is playing at no charge and, because members are getting back together this summer, it’s “a bit of a reunion show.” He said he is looking forward to the event and the band will probably play until about 10:30 p.m.

He said he wanted to do the event because FACT is “a great organization” and it is nice to be able to do something for it.

“They do a lot of different things to help people, so we just wanted to do something to help them,” Paulus said.

O’Connor said the event is to include raffles and 50/50 drawings. She said FACT also will be selling bracelets, and tickets will be available for the Bauman Auto Group’s 17th annual Big Charity Raffle. Tickets cost $5 apiece and FACT gets all the proceeds from whatever tickets it sells, O’Connor said.

TPC Food Service is donating the food for the event and Tiffin Moose is donating the room and preparing the meals, she said.

O’Connor said the event is free to attend and information about FACT will be available at the event. She said officials are just asking for donations to FACT at the door.

“Anything that people want to donate, we appreciate. It all goes to FACT,” Paulus said.

FACT is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping residents of Seneca County who have been diagnosed with cancer and it gives money directly to the patients for their out-of-pocket expenses.
