Several indicted by grand jury
A Seneca County grand jury handed up indictments.
Scyular D.J. Thompson, 25, of Tiffin, was charged with assault on a peace officer, a fourth-degree felony.
According to court records, Officer Brooks Hall of Fostoria Police Department was on patrol in Fostoria about 8 p.m. Dec. 29 when he saw a man yelling at a vehicle at Certified, 100 E. Lytle St.
The man refused to identify himself and said, “I am one of you,” they state.
They state Hall could smell a strong odor of an alcohol beverage on Thompson. Thompson allegedly reached for Hall’s Taser and said, “This is mine,” according to court records.
Separately, Hunter R. Simpkins, 18, of Tiffin, was charged with failure to provide notice of residence address change, a third-degree felony.
Dawn S. Chaffee, 52, of Tiffin, was charged with theft from an elderly person, a fourth-degree felony, according to court records.
Randell T. Ladd, 34, of Tiffin, was charged with breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, and falsification, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Justin A. Gephart, 31, was charged with theft, a fifth-degree felony, court records state.
Ryan J. Bintz, 35, of Tiffin, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, court records state.
