Lawsuit: Woman’s hair torn from head
Fremont residents have filed a lawsuit alleging a woman’s hair was torn off her head while working in a Tiffin plant.
Attorneys for Lisa and Allen Ackerman filed the lawsuit in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Thursday against Dorel Home Furnishings Inc., which formerly was known as Ameriwood Inc., and Dorel Industries.
The lawsuit alleges Lisa Ackerman was operating on a subject laminator, where she was required to place additional laminating paper under and into the underside column of rollers to feed into the laminator.
It states the top of her hair bun made contact with unguarded powered rollers, and her hair was pulled into the machine. It eventually tore it off her head, according to the lawsuit.
Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley is to preside over the lawsuit, which seeks more than $25,000.
