TPD probing robbery at Denny’s
Tiffin Police Department is investigating a robbery at Denny’s, 315 W. Market St., early Friday morning.
Lt. Mark Marquis of Tiffin Police Department said a man entered the back door of the restaurant and stole money from an office. There may have been an accomplice nearby, he said. Marquis said there were employees in the front of the business when the suspect entered the back of the building, but it was unknown if any patrons were in there.
He said the amount of money taken was undetermined Friday evening. Marquis said while it was initially believed a weapon was involved, he did not believe anybody was armed during the robbery.
Stacy M. Robinson, 40, of Tiffin, was investigated as possibly having a part in the robbery and was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court, he said. A Seneca County Jail spokesman said the warrant was for failure to appear. Detectives were following up on leads to determine if she was involved in the robbery, Marquis said.
He said a search warrant was executed at 235 Clay St. While he couldn’t disclose what was found during the search warrant, Marquis said evidence was obtained from the residence that may be linked to the robbery.
He confirmed police had suspects in the case.
