BASCOM — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at SR 635 and CR 592 Thursday afternoon.

Trooper Mark Sorg of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Ronald J. Snow, 56, of Petrolia, Pennsylvania, was traveling east on CR 592 in a 2017 Peterbilt semi-truck and trailer. Robert J. Valle, 76, of Gibsonburg, was traveling south with Amelia Valle, 69, of Gibsonburg, on SR 635 in a 2003 Chevrolet truck and was pulling a camper. Sorg said Snow failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by the Chevrolet.

Robert Valle and Amelia Valle were transported by Bascom EMS to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital to be treated for what Sorg said he thought were non-life-threatening injuries. Robert Valle was later transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, he said.

Sorg said Snow was cited with failure to stop at stop sign.

Everybody involved was wearing their seatbelts, he said.

The intersection of CR 592 and SR 635 was closed while crews worked at the scene.

The accident was reported at 1:57 p.m. and Bascom EMS, Bascom Joint Fire District, the Echo unit, State Highway Patrol, Reinhart Auto Body and John’s Welding and Towing responded to the scene.
