Man injured in Wyandot County crash

An Upper Sandusky man was injured in a Wyandot County accident at U.S. 23 and CR 113 Wednesday morning.

According to a release from the Bucyrus post of State Highway Patrol, Robert A. Shepard, 71, of Yutan, Nebraska, was traveling south in a commercial tractor trailer in the right lane on U.S. 23 and Brian A. Bryant, 52, of Upper Sandusky, was traveling south on U.S. 23 in the left lane on a 2005 Harley-Davidson. Shepard made an illegal left turn at CR 113 and struck the Harley-Davidson, the release states. Upon impact, Bryant was thrown from the motorcycle and was struck by the rear trailer tires, it states.

Bryant was taken by Med Flight to Saint Rita’s Hospital to be treated for serious injuries, the release states.

The accident was under investigation Wednesday.

The accident was reported at 6:18 a.m. and Upper Sandusky EMS, Wyandot County EMS, Med Flight, State Highway Patrol, Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office and Danner’s Towing responded to the scene.
