Clyde man injured in crash on CR 280

A Clyde man was injured in a single-vehicle accident on CR 280, south of US 6, Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release from the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol, Dana L. Simpson, 57, of Clyde, was traveling south on CR 280 in a 2003 Dodge pickup truck. Simpson drove off the right side of the road, overcorrected, drove off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

The release states Simpson was taken by Sandusky County EMS to Firelands Regional Medical Center and later was taken by Life Flight to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center to be treated for incapacitating injuries.

Simpson was wearing his seatbelt, it states.

Alcohol was considered to be a factor in the accident, the release states.

The accident was reported at 3:45 p.m. and Sandusky County EMS, Townsend Township Volunteer Fire Department, State Highway Patrol, Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office and Madison’s Towing responded to the scene.
