Two people were hurt in an accident at North SR 101 and East CR 38 in Clinton Township Monday afternoon.

Trooper Jake Mellinger of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Carol Spencer, 57, of Attica, and Brian J. Hartsock, 51, of Tiffin, had non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.

Mellinger said Spencer was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva east on CR 38, and Hartsock was driving a 1999 Dodge Dakota northeast on SR 101. He said he was told Spencer didn’t stop at a stop sign.

The Chevrolet Captiva struck the Dodge Dakota. The Dodge Dakota went off the left side of the road and rolled into a soybean field, he said.

Spencer and Hartsock were wearing seabelts, and Spencer was going to be cited with failure to yield, Mellinger said.

Personnel from Tiffin Fire Rescue Division, Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and State Highway Patrol assisted at the scene.

The accident was reported about 1:40 p.m.
