Attica man charged with sex-related crimes

An Attica man was indicted in Cuyahoga County after allegedly attempting to engage in sexual conduct with a 14-year-old girl, according to court records.

William S. Mullet, 47, of Attica, was charged with attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony; and importuning and possessing criminal tools, fifth-degree felonies, court records state.

Dave Frattare, commander of the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, said Mullet reached out to an undercover officer posing as a teenage child and expressed interest in traveling to meet the child.

Several conversations occurred, and communication occurred through social media, he said.

Mullet thought he was meeting the child, traveled from Attica to a previously determined location in Cuyahoga County and was arrested when he showed up, Frattare said.

Mullet was arrested by Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children personnel.

“Members of the Task Force protect Ohio’s children by conducting proactive and reactive investigations that target online predators,” according to the prosecutor’s office’s website.
