Search warrant executed; 2 arrested
A man and teenage girl who was reported as a runaway from Columbus were arrested when a drug-related search warrant was executed at a Tiffin residence for the second time in two weeks Tuesday.
Seneca County Drug Task Force — METRICH Enforcement Unit with assistance from Tiffin Police Department executed the warrant at 42½ W. Perry St., the residence of Jerell A. Carroll, 26, and a 15-year-old girl, both formerly of Columbus, according to a METRICH release.
Carroll was arrested on charges of corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony; trafficking crack cocaine and complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine, fourth-degree felonies; and trafficking crack cocaine and possession of criminal tools, fifth-degree felonies, the release states.
He was taken to Seneca County Jail.
The girl was charged with trafficking crack cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, and was taken to Seneca County Youth Center.
The warrant yielded money, suspected crack cocaine and criminal tools, according to the release.
The task force executed a drug-related search warrant at the same residence June 27.
Detective Chuck Boyer, coordinator of Seneca County Drug Task Force — METRICH Enforcement Unit, had said complaints led officers to the residence.
He said two people who moved from Columbus three to four weeks before were found inside: Tarajee S. Harris and Paul A. Courtney.
Courtney was being charged with trafficking in cocaine, he said.
Citizens can continue to report suspicious activity to their local agencies or the task force’s crime hotline at (877) 446-DRUG or (419) 443-0463.
