Seneca County Fair is accepting entries this week.

The office is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The 176th fair is July 23-29 at 100 Hopewell Ave., Tiffin.

Lunch on the Lawn Wednesday

FOSTORIA — Tom Tobin is to perform during the Lunch on the Lawn noon-1 p.m. Wednesday at the Fostoria Municipal Building.

The rain location would be the Bankquet Room, 125 S. Main St.

A bag lunch is to be available for a $5 donation to Fostoria Community Arts Council.

Sisters in Shelter welcomes new board members

Five members of the Tiffin community have been elected to serve as members of the Sisters in Shelter Board of Trustees.

The organization stated the following have committed to Sisters in Shelter: Gene Chintala, associate professor at Tiffin University; Kathleen Frankart, retired registered nurse; Megan Homan, emergency room nurse/ sexual assault nurse examiner of Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital; Emily Isaacson, director of Heidelberg University’s honors program; and Beth Westphal, manager of mission and pastoral care at St. Francis Home.

They will be joining two re-elected members of the board, Kathy Corthell and Stacy Stark, and four members whose terms did not expire in 2018: Erica Gordon, Judy Hofmann, Linda Ritzler and Louise Zoeller.

Commissioners meeting today

Seneca County commissioners are to meet at 9:30 a.m. today at the commissioners’ office, 111 Madison St., for a work session followed by a regular meeting at 10.

During the work session, the board is to discuss a human resources assessment.

Three ditch hearings are to be held about maintenance assessments for joint ditches. The Wyandot, Crawford and Sandusky county commissioners are to join the session via conference call for the hearings.

In old business, commissioners are to discuss the Small Business Administration and landscaping for Seneca County Justice Center.

During new business, the board is to discuss a Wednesday meeting at Department of Job and Family Services. The 10 a.m. meeting at the DJFS office is to discuss Children’s Protective Services.

At about 10:15 a.m., a bid opening for a pavement marking project is scheduled.

Also in news business, commissioners are to consider:

• A $100,000 supplemental appropriation to the Maintenance and Repair Fund.

• A $10,000 supplemental appropriation to the General Fund.

• A $2,000 appropriation adjustment within the Maintenance and Repair Fund.

• A $1,400 appropriation adjustment within the General Fund.

• A $5,000 supplemental appropriation within the General Fund.

• Setting time, date and place to receive bids for the CR 19 and CR 39 pavement resurfacing project.

• Authorizing annual assessments for several single ditches being maintained by the county in 2018.

Budget hearing in Bettsville

The village of Bettsville’s budget hearing is set for 6:15 p.m. today at Bettsville’s Village Complex, 308 Emma St.

Mohawk Board of Ed meeting

Mohawk Board of Education is to have a special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Mohawk Community Center.

Bliss board meeting

BLOOMVILLE – Bliss Memorial Public Library Board of Trustees meeting has rescheduled from Thursday to 7 p.m. July 19.
