BASCOM – The Hopewell-Loudon Board of Education met in special session Monday morning to proceed with the search for a superintendent.

Superintendent Dave Alvarado is to leave July 31 to become assistant principal at Findlay High School.

North Central Ohio Educational Service Center has facilitated the search, resulting in 29 applicants. The board is to interview five of them later this week.

Board members hope to hire a new superintendent before July 10.

The board also took action to finalize the district’s financial year and to set appropriations for 2018-19.

Also, volunteers Eric Breidenbach and Aleta Daniels were approved to assist the girls’ basketball program.
