Genealogical society to meet Tuesday

Seneca County Genealogical Society is to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Home, 182 St. Francis Ave., in the multi-purpose room. This is the annual potluck dinner meeting, so bring a dish to share.

The society plans to recognize four new First Families of Seneca County members, and share some of their genealogy.

Artisan Market Wednesday

FOSTORIA – First Step, 1099 Columbus Ave., is to host its third annual Artisan Market 2-7 p.m. Wednesday.

The market is to offer handmade baskets, homemade soaps, herbal creams, fresh herbs, honey, rosemary shortbread, antique and vintage décor, organic dog treats, aprons, artwork, Zilis CBD oil, apothecary, essential oils, tie-dyed clothing, bags, tapestries, chair massages and Southern barbecue.

“Our hope is to bring the community together and encourage a holistic lifestyle, featuring local artisans, craftsmen, organic farmers, holistic healers, storytellers, and visionaries that remind us to pause and celebrate the good stuff,” stated Tom Tobin, community resource coordinator at First Step.

Participating artisans include Schooner Farms of Weston, Heaven’s Hands of Alvada, My Own Backyard Herbs & Flowers, Jamber’s House of Color and Opal Elephant of Findlay, and Pat Corando‚Äôs Aprons, Hawg Sauce Catering and Main Street Emporium of Fostoria.

A limited number of half-off tickets for Soul Shine Blues Festival are to be available for $10. First Step also is to offer children’s face painting, homemade lemonade, cookies and handmade Women of Worth necklaces for sale.

First Step is a family resource center that provides shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children, 24-hour support line, advocacy and outreach and support programs for men, women and children. For more information, call (419) 435-7300.

K of C hosting trip to Comerica Park for Tribe vs. Tigers game

Knights of Columbus, Tiffin, is hosting a bus trip to the Detroit vs. Cleveland game June 9.

The bus will leave at 1 p.m. June 9 from the K of C Hall, 49 E. Perry St., Tiffin.
