Small business seminars set for May
FREMONT — The Ohio Small Business Development Center at Terra State Community College is again offering free, two-hour seminars, Small Business Basics, throughout May.
The schedule is as follows:
9:30-11:30 a.m. today at the Ottawa County Improvement Corp., 8043 W. SR 163, Oak Harbor.
9:30-11:30 a.m.- May 9 at Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Services, 19 W. Market St. Tiffin.
9:30-11:30 a.m. May 16 at Erie County Chamber of Commerce, 604 W. Washington St., Sandusky.
4:30-6:30 p.m. May 23 at Terra State, 2830 Napoleon Road, Fremont.

Women to host rummage sale Friday
The women of Fremont First Presbyterian Church are to host a spring rummage sale 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, with the bag sale at 2 p.m. at the church, 121 S. Park Ave.
Clothing, housewares, furniture and collectibles are to be available.
A lunch also is to be provided.
‘First Lady of Piano’ to perform at The Ritz
Teresa Walters, a musical ambassador at home and abroad, is to perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St.
Tickets cost $10-$25 and can be purchased by calling (419) 448-8544 or visiting www.ritztheatre.org.
Walters as performed on six continents and has earned the nickname “The International First Lady of Piano.”
Art, craft show this weekend in Findlay
FINDLAY — The Springtime in Ohio Art and Craft Show is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday by The Old Mill Stream at the Hancock County Fairgrounds.
Up-to-date fashions for personal use, home, office and garden décor and outdoor selections from over 208 artists and craftspeople are to be sold.
Musical entertainment also is to be provided. There are to be pony rides, Buttons the Clown and face painting. Princess Rapunzel and Wonder Woman also are to make an appearance Saturday.
Admission is $5 for adults and children under 12-years old are admitted free.
First Fostoria farmer’s market this weekend
FOSTORIA – The first Fostoria Farmer’s Market of the season is to take place 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the corners of Tiffin and Main streets, with the theme “Celebrate Moms.”
Spring flowers, vegetable starts and unique planters are to be available from Barb & Dick’s, Mr. Basket, Shirley Conley and Fostoria Garden Club.
Farm-fresh eggs are to be available from Widmer Family Farms, along with baked goods from Country Crafts and Peg Kauffman; Coonies Kettle Corn; Just Jammin & Stuff’s homemade jellies, soaps, jewelry and painted gourds; honey products from Just Natural sweeteners; and maple syrup products from the Sugar Shack. Other vendors include Pat Coronado’s many hand-sewn items; Prairie Song Pottery and doggie treats; Dick Perrine’s wind chimes and garden art; Scentsy; Premiere Jewelry; Joy’s Candles; Sours Homestead crafts; Hummel’s Cricut crafts; The Review Times and Costco. TAG to celebrate ’50 Years of Learning’
Tiffin Art Guild & Gallery is to display 50 paintings by Ed Schauder at an exhibition, “50 Years of Learning,” May 5-26, with a grand opening celebration 4-6 p.m. Saturday.
Schauder fell in love with a painting at a Clyde Arts & Craft show, but was unable to purchase it. So he sent out to create one of his own.
Now, 50 years later, he is a self-taught artist, reading art books and practicing daily. Schauder’s paintings have been sold at art shows and by commission. He specializes in oil painting, watercolor and pastels in a variety of subjects.
