Motorcyclists hurt in accidents

A Fostoria man was hurt in a motorcycle accident on TR 84 Monday night.

Trooper Christopher Kiefer of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Brian R. Brickner, 60, was driving east on TR 84 when he went off the north side of the road.

Kiefer said Brickner was taken by Fostoria Fire Division to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital, and he did not think Brickner’s injuries were life-threatening. He said he did not think Brickner was wearing a helmet.

A citation had not been issued at the scene of the accident, which was reported at 8:06 p.m.

Personnel from Kansas Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

In an accident Sunday afternoon, a Clyde motorcyclist was hurt when he struck a van at SR 19 and Limerick Road in Sandusky County’s Green Creek Township.

A release from the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol states a 2009 Dodge Caravan driven by Jennifer L. Framstad, 38, of Clyde, and a 2017 Harley-Davidson driven by Matthew L. Davenport, 24, of Clyde, were southbound on SR 19, approaching Limerick Road.

Davenport started to pass as the Dodge turned left to travel east on Limerick Road, and Davenport struck the Dodge, it states.

The motorcycle overturned, and Davenport, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from it, the release states.

Davenport by taken by a ProMedica helicopter to ProMedica The Toledo Hospital. He was in critical condition Monday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Framstad, whose two children were in the vehicle with her, was not hurt. Cooper Framstad, 8, was not hurt, and Gretta Framstad, 6, had minor injuries, according to the release.

They all were wearing seatbelts and were properly restrained, it states.

Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash, the release states.

Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Green Springs Rural Volunteer Fire Department and Sandusky County Life Squads assisted.
