FREMONT – The president and CEO of the Ohio Association of Community Colleges is to speak to the class of 2018 Friday during Terra State Community College’s commencement ceremonies.

Jack Hershey represents the presidents and trustees of Ohio’s 23 community colleges. He came to the OACC in 2014 after 10 years at Ohio State University, where he served as associate vice president for state relations.

“Terra State Community College is excited to host Jack Hershey as our commencement speaker,” Amanda Pochatko, marketing manager at Terra State, said.

Hershey led collaborations by state colleges and universities to produce a unified approach to funding for capital and operating budgets for campuses statewide. He also served as deputy director of the Office of Budget and Management under former Gov. Bob Taft and was director of finance and a financial analyst in the Ohio House of Representatives.

Hershey earned a bachelor’s degree in public policy management from the University of Akron.

Commencement is to begin at 7 p.m. Friday.
