FPD responds to possible overdose

Fostoria Police Department responded to a possible overdose Tuesday night.

A person requested EMS for a man who was on the floor at 399 Fall St., according to a report.

Narcan was used and there was a transport to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital, the report states.

The incident was reported at 10:52 p.m.

Further information was not available Wednesday evening.

Farmers market Saturday

FOSTORIA — Fostoria Farmer’s Market is 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Tiffin and Main streets.

The theme is “Let’s go Gardening” and is sponsored by Creative Concepts Landscaping.

Jon Wonderly is to be on-hand to answer landscaping questions. Fostoria Garden Club Ltd. members are to help children plant a flower to take home.

Spring flowers, vegetable starts and planters also are to be available from Barb & Dick’s, Mr. Basket, Shirley Conley and the Fostoria Garden Club.

The Eastern Star also is to provide breakfast sandwiches and muffins in the Masonic building.

Civil War group meeting planned

The Johnson Island Civil War Roundtable of Tiffin is to host its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Sunday at TJ Willies, with dinner at 5:15 p.m.

Howard Strouse is to present “Baltimore in the Civil War.”

Jeffrey Jewelry forms team to run in marathon

Employees of Jeffrey Jewelry formed a team, named “Fast Feet for F.A.C.T.,” to run in the 2018 Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon Sunday.

According to a release, the idea came about after Jeffrey Jewelry president Ty Cooper’s mother battled lymphoma earlier this year. The team consists of Cooper, Jeffrey Jewelry General Manager Ray Wise, Jeffrey Jewelry Sales Associate Mike Norwood and Bryan Deats of Great Lakes Ace Hardware.

F.A.C.T. assists Seneca County residents who are diagnosed with cancer and the group provides services such as financial assistance for medications, treatments and transportation, the release states.

Donations can be dropped off in Tiffin at Jeffrey Jewelry, 2449 W. Market St., and any person who contributes more than $20 is to receive a commemorative T-shirt while supplies last, the release states. All money raised is to stay within the county.

Fire district to meet

BASCOM — Bascom Joint Fire District is to meet at 9 a.m. May 25 and May 29 at the Bascom Joint Fire station, 5960 W. Tiffin St.

The meetings are for selection of a construction manager.

Memorial Day parade set

Tiffin Memorial Day Parade is to take place at 10 a.m. May 28.

Coffee and donuts are to be available for all veterans in the old St. Joseph’s gym at 8 a.m.
