Tiffin in top 100 small cities

Tiffin was ranked in the top 100 small cities nationwide as a popular place for relocation in 2017.

According to a Seneca Industrial and Economic Development Corp. release, the city was ranked 40th by search data gathered by moveBuddha, an online resource for planning long-distance moves. Tiffin was one of four Ohio cities on the list.

Mayor Aaron Montz explained why he thought the city received the honor.

“Tiffin is a small, yet dynamic community, with a welcoming atmosphere,” he said. “Our city offers a wide variety of opportunities at a great cost of living and within reach of large metropolitan areas. Downtown Tiffin is once again thriving thanks to concentrated revitalization efforts.”

Montz said economic development is strong, with jobs being created in all sectors and entrepreneurs being encouraged by local leaders.

He also cited educational opportunities, including at Heidelberg and Tiffin universities.

“There are more family-friendly recreational options than ever,” he added, “with our budding trails system and new outdoor venue.”

Montz said those aspects are important, but the city also offers meaningful connections.

“Not everyone in Tiffin is from Tiffin, but once you’re here, you’re family,” he said.
