St. Joseph’s parish plans family-oriented mission
St. Joseph Catholic Church has scheduled a 60-minute, family-oriented parish mission in February.
The mission is to feature the Rev. James Sichko of the Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky. The presentation, titled “60 Minutes for Jesus: Praise, Laughter and Storytelling,” is to take place Feb. Feb. 11-13 at the church, located at 36 Melmore St.
The event is ecumenical, according to Cathe Hammer, a church member.
“It is for everyone whatever denomination or belief,” she said. “It’s also a great forerunner to Lent, which begins Wednesday, Feb. 14.”
Sichko is an evangelist and motivational speaker. In 2016, Pope Francis commissioned Sichko as a Papal Missionary of Mercy, of which there are 100 in the United States and 1,000 worldwide.
Sichko is said to tie real-world experiences to the message of Jesus. Each talk is geared for all in the family.
