One injured in Hancock crash
VANLUE — Hancock County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident on SR 568 near TR 175 Friday afternoon.
Joseph Thiel, 26, of Upper Sandusky, was traveling west on SR 568 in a 2013 Hyundai when he lost control of his vehicle on the icy and snow-covered road, according to a Hancock County Sheriff’s Office release.
The release states Thiel went off the right side of the road, struck a mailbox post and an American Electric Power power pole before coming to a stop.
Thiel was transported by Hanco EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay to be treated for possible injuries, the release states.
Thiel was wearing a seatbelt, it states.
The accident still was under investigation Friday.
The accident was reported at 1:19 p.m. and Hanco EMS, Vanlue Volunteer Fire Department and R & A Towing responded to the scene.
According to a spokeswoman from Tiffin Police Department and a spokesman from Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, there were no weather-related incidents reported in Tiffin or Seneca County as of Friday evening.
