Nate Washington to give MLK Day address at TU

Tiffin University is to celebrate the life and message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on campus with a keynote address by alumnus and former NFL player Nate Washington.

Washington’s address is set for 11 a.m. Monday in the Gillmor Student Center gym.

Washington was an wide receiver for TU and in the NFL. Prior to playing for the Tennessee Titans, he was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He has two Super Bowl rings.

While at TU, Washington set eight individual receiving records. He also holds the record for receptions and yards in a game, receptions and yards in a season, touchdowns in a season, career and yards receptions, and career yards touchdown receptions.

In addition to Washington’s address, students, organizations and professors plan to host professional development breakout sessions at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sessions are to foster dialogue about topics related to peace and social conflict, civility and compassion.
