Fostoria police investigate reported armed robbery
FOSTORIA — Fostoria Police Department is investigating a report of an armed robbery.
At 9:39 p.m. Monday, a woman at Hilton Food Mart, 121 S. Countyline St., called 911 and reported she just had been robbed, a police report states.
The person was armed with a gun, was wearing all black and a ski mask, and was carrying a backpack, it states.
The incident was under investigation. Further information was not available from Chief Keith Loreno Tuesday.
Fostoria woman hurt in Hancock County accident
A Fostoria woman was hurt when her vehicle struck a pole in Hancock County’s Washington Township Monday afternoon.
A release from Hancock County Sheriff’s Office states Cynthia A. Frias, 53, was driving a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan west on CR 226. The vehicle went off the north side of the road and struck an American Electric Power pole, it states.
Frias was taken by Hanco EMS to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital. She was cited with failure to control, the release states.
The accident happened about 2:15 p.m.
