Tiffin Pointe opening in 2018

A new housing development in Tiffin is accepting applications and is set to open next year.

Tiffin Pointe, being built at 639 W. Market St., is holding an Application Day 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday.

According to the development’s website, applications are to be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Those wishing to apply should bring all of the following applicable documentation: driver’s license or state ID card; Social Security cards for each occupant; birth certificates for those younger than 18; Social Security award letter; employment information; income verification; public assistance verification; certificate of deposit, checking or savings account information; verification of purchase or sale of a residence within the last year; other asset documentation; life insurance verification; alimony verification; and a $12 money order per adult, per application.

Applications should be submitted to the project’s office at 19 W. Market St., Suite B.

The project is aimed at low- to moderate-income residents and rent is based on income. It broke ground in April and is to provide two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments. Tiffin Pointe is to have 52 units.

According to Seneca Industrial and Economic Development Corp., the project is on 7.5 acres. The complex will include on-site amenities such as a clubhouse, a property management office, a library, a business center, a laundry room, a playground, a fitness center and a community room with a gas fireplace.

Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz said earlier this year he is pleased with the project.

“As our retail and manufacturing sectors grow, bringing more jobs to Tiffin, it only makes sense to build additional housing to support our workforce,” he said.
