Holocaust survivor to give lecture at TU
The Distinguished Lecture Series, hosted by Tiffin University’s School of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences, is to present Holocaust survivor Martin Lowenberg 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Marion Center.
The series this year is focused on the psychology of violence and aggression.
Lowenberg’s family fled Germany, hoping to live in freedom as refugees in a Latvian ghetto. Nazi oppression followed Lowenberg and his family — he and an older sister were sent to labor camps, while the rest of the family was killed in the Auschwitz concentration camp.
Lowenberg lives in Southfield, Michigan, and continues telling his story to educate others about the atrocities of the Holocaust and to stand against intolerance.
