Woman sentenced

to community control

A Tiffin woman was sentenced to community control during a hearing in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Steve Shuff’s courtroom.

Joellen Harshman, 53, pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

Shuff sentenced her to three years of community control, ordered her to complete a CROSSWAEH program and ordered her to undergo random drug and/or alcohol urinalysis as directed by Adult Parole Authority or Oriana House, court records state.

Woman pleads guilty

A Tiffin woman pleaded guilty to a charge during a hearing in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Steve Shuff’s courtroom.

Ashley E. Bishop, 34, entered a written negotiated plea of guilty to a charge of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony, court records state.

The case was referred for a pre-sentence investigation.

Man indicted

A Fostoria man was indicted by a Seneca County grand jury.

Kenneth J. Kubeck, 50, of Fostoria, was charged with violating a protection order, a fifth-degree felony, court records state.

OSS collecting tires

Ottawa Sandusky Seneca Joint Solid Waste Management District is sponsoring a residential tire recycling collection 9 a.m.-noon Saturday for residents of the three counties, including residents of Bellevue and Fostoria.

The Seneca County drop-off point is the Seneca County Fairgrounds, south lot off CR 594.

Residents can drop off car and small truck tires on or off the rim. A maximum of 10 tires per household are to be accepted and residents will be charged 50 cents per tire. Racing tires also will be accepted at a cost of $2 per tire.

Tractor and semi tires are not accepted at this collection.

School board committee to meet

Tiffin City Board of Education Marketing Committee is to meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Administration Office, 244 S. Monroe St.

Lodge taking sausage orders

Seneca Lodge No. 790, in Republic, is taking orders for its November sausage sale with meat available in five-pound bags of bulk or link.

According to a news release, those interested should contact lodge members or call (639) 307-2172 to order by Nov. 4.

Sausage can be picked up at the lodge, 303 S. Madison St., 10-11 a.m. Nov. 11 or at the lodge breakfast Nov. 12. Buyers should call if they cannot pick up at that time.

CRP acceptance suspended

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced it plans to process many pending eligible offers for land enrollment in the Conservation Reserve Program, and temporarily suspend accepting most new offers until later in the 2018 fiscal year.

The CRP acreage cap is a provision of the 2014 Farm Bill.
