SCPD checks out sites
After reviewing the pros and cons of two potential offices Friday afternoon, Seneca County Park District’s board agreed to look further into space at the county Jobs & Family Services building off SR 100.
The motion approved by the five board members authorized Director Sarah Betts to begin talking with county personnel about leasing the 1,700-square-foot space and checking remodeling costs.
The second site is a 980-square-foot space in the Agricultural Service Center down the road, most recently occupied by Seneca County Agency Transportation.
Board members noted plusses and minuses, but the first-floor location, larger space and potential for greater visibility swayed them toward the Job & Family Services building, which also houses the county engineer’s office and Veterans Services.
The board plans to make a final decision at its Sept. 12 meeting after Betts collects more information.
