Flood warning still in effect
Flooding throughout Seneca County had subsided, but the Sandusky River remained under a flood warning Friday.
The river was at 10 feet, a foot above flood stage, Friday afternoon. The flood warning was set to expire tonight.
As of Friday evening, National Weather Service was predicting the river would crest at 10 1/2 feet at 2 a.m. today. It predicted the river would fall below action stage of 6 feet Sunday.
At 7:15 a.m. Thursday, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office had issued a Level 2 roadway warning for widespread flooding across the county. It cautioned that only those who felt it necessary to drive should be on the roads.
The roadway warning was lifted about 11 a.m. Thursday.
