Second wave of graffiti found at Beechwood Park

A second round of graffiti was reported Friday morning in Tiffin.

Sgt. Bryan Bryant of the Tiffin Police Department said police found playground equipment and a shelter at Beechwood Park had been spray- painted after a trash fire was discovered at the park early Friday morning.

Bryant said the fire, which destroyed a plastic trash can, and the vandalism likely are connected.

According to Tiffin Police reports, a caller from Big Lots, 644 W. Market St., reported later Friday morning the back of the building had been spray-painted. A fence at 24 Beechwood Drive also was reported to have been spray-painted.

Bryant said the paint found Friday is similar to the graffiti found last Friday on street signs, the bike path and on South River Road.

Bryant said, by Friday afternoon, the street department and the public works department had cleaned up most of the graffiti at Beechwood Park.

He said the vandalism remains under investigation.
